Selected attorneys will evaluate AI-generated briefs, arguments, memoranda, and other legal work; identify factual and legal weaknesses; provide expert judgement on ambiguous cases; and develop high-quality examples that strengthen AI performance across litigation and legal-practice scenarios. No prior AI experience is required.

Legal Reasoning & Litigation Analysis

  • Evaluate the strength and coherence of legal arguments
  • Assess reasoning against applicable legal principles
  • Identify unsupported conclusions or analytical gaps
  • Apply professional judgement to difficult or ambiguous issues

AI Legal Output Evaluation

  • Review AI-generated briefs, arguments, and memoranda
  • Assess outputs for factual and legal accuracy
  • Evaluate analytical rigour and professional quality

Legal Writing & Argument Development

  • Draft and edit sample legal language

Complex Case Calibration

  • Evaluate nuanced and legally ambiguous edge cases
  • Distinguish clearly supportable conclusions from uncertain outcomes
  • Explain competing legal interpretations where appropriate
  • Apply calibrated judgement to fact-sensitive scenarios
  • Support consistent evaluation of difficult legal questions

Feedback & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide precise written feedback on legal outputs
  • Explain legal reasoning to interdisciplinary project teams
  • Incorporate iterative feedback into evaluation work
  • Collaborate asynchronously across project workflows
  • Maintain consistent professional standards across assignments

Ideal Profile

  • JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
  • Active law licence in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 3–15 years of post-JD legal experience
  • Strong preference for trial, appellate, or litigation specialists
  • Deep expertise in legal reasoning and litigation practice
  • Strong analytical judgement across complex legal issues
  • Exceptional legal-writing capabilities
  • Ability to identify factual, legal, and logical weaknesses precisely
  • Strong communication skills and attention to professional detail
  • Judicial clerkship experience at the federal or state level is highly valued
  • Trial-court or appellate clerkship experience is particularly relevant
  • Substantial trial experience is advantageous
  • Federal court admissions are valuable
  • Appellate-practice experience enhances candidacy
  • Law journal editorial or published legal-writing experience is advantageous
  • Prior law-school teaching, adjunct, lecturer, fellow, or comparable instructional experience is desirable
  • No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Remote — United States only
  • Compensation: $100–$180/hour
  • Work will involve legal reasoning, litigation analysis, AI-output evaluation, legal writing, and complex-case calibration
  • Assignments may include briefs, arguments, memoranda, and other litigation-related materials
  • Strong written communication and analytical precision are central to the engagement
  • Contributors will be expected to provide detailed reasoning rather than conclusory assessments
  • Work will primarily be completed asynchronously with a cross-functional project team
  • Project materials and legal scenarios may vary depending on research and evaluation requirements
  • No prior AI experience is required
  • Work must be completed without using confidential, privileged, sealed, client-specific, work-product-protected, or otherwise restricted information belonging to any employer, client, law firm, court matter, or other third party
