This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager of Accounting based in the United States.
This is a strategic accounting leadership role overseeing critical general ledger and statutory reporting activities across multiple international entities.
You will lead a team of accounting professionals while ensuring accurate, timely, and well-governed financial reporting.
The role combines technical accounting expertise, people leadership, financial analysis, and cross-functional partnership.
You will collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Procurement, and other business stakeholders.
A key focus will be strengthening close processes, improving controls, and using automation and AI-enabled tools to increase efficiency.
You will also provide executive-level reporting and guidance on complex accounting matters and local regulatory requirements.

Accountabilities
- Provide end-to-end oversight of annual statutory reporting across multiple international entities, including local GAAP adjustments, financial statements, and regulatory filings.
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members and contractors by setting priorities, providing feedback, and fostering accountability and strong service delivery.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for key balance sheet areas, including debt, investments, prepaids, intangibles, and fixed assets.
- Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and analytical results to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly management reporting, analytical insights, and executive-level review materials for Finance leadership.
- Assess complex transactions under local GAAP and collaborate with Technical Accounting on appropriate US GAAP treatment.
- Act as a trusted accounting advisor to Finance and business partners, including Procurement, Accounts Payable, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal.
- Drive close optimization and governance by identifying manual or inefficient processes and introducing automation and AI-enabled solutions where appropriate.
- Communicate close results, significant accounting matters, and statutory reporting progress to management.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, controls, and process documentation.
- Lead or support cross-functional initiatives, including system enhancements, process improvements, and onboarding of new legal entities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within publicly traded organizations.
- At least 3 years of direct people-management experience.
- Strong technical and operational knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP requirements.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or overseeing financial statements and statutory reports across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience working with local auditors and coordinating statutory reporting processes internationally.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, internal controls, and financial close processes.
- Technical accounting experience covering areas such as debt, investments, prepaids, intangible assets, and fixed assets.
- Experience with accounting and financial systems; familiarity with platforms such as Sage Intacct, BlackLine, BNA, Coupa, Workday, or comparable systems is valuable.
- Advanced spreadsheet and data-analysis skills using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Workspace.
- Experience working in a global environment and managing multiple projects, processes, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams, establish priorities, and deliver high-impact results.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking abilities, combined with strong attention to detail.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a professional, collaborative approach.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Public accounting experience combined with industry experience is advantageous.
- Experience with annual budgeting, financial planning and forecasting, or executive-level reporting is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to approximately 10% for internal events and team meetings.
- Reliable internet access is required for remote work.
- Candidates must meet applicable U.S. employment and work-authorization requirements.
- Base salary range of $133,000–$225,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
