Position Summary

The Bradbury Group is seeking a Software Developer to design and build software solutions that improve business processes across the organization.

This role is less about simply writing code and more about solving complex business problems. The ideal candidate can learn unfamiliar processes, identify inefficiencies, simplify workflows, and use modern development tools, including AI, to rapidly create accurate, secure, and maintainable applications.

Manufacturing experience is not required. Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, technical aptitude, and the ability to understand business needs are more important.

Location: Moundridge, KS

  • This role works onsite

Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain internal business applications.
  • Work directly with employees and department leaders to understand business problems and requirements.
  • Simplify inefficient processes before automating them.
  • Replace manual processes, spreadsheets, paper forms, and disconnected applications with modern solutions.
  • Heavily use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Validate AI-generated code for accuracy, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Develop database-backed applications, APIs, and integrations with existing business systems.
  • Work with structured and unstructured business data.
  • Build intuitive applications that are easy for employees to use.
  • Create prototypes quickly, gather feedback, and improve solutions iteratively.
  • Document applications, architecture, integrations, and deployment requirements.
  • Support and improve applications after deployment.
  • Follow company cybersecurity, data governance, and AI usage standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Software development experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with database-backed applications and SQL.
  • Experience with modern web application development.
  • Experience with APIs and system integrations.
  • Experience with source control such as Git.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar business processes.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools.

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience with some of the following is preferred:

  • C# / .NET
  • ASP.NET Core / Blazor
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Entity Framework
  • REST APIs
  • Azure
  • Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory
  • Python
  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • OpenAI or other LLM APIs
  • RAG, vector databases, or AI agents
  • OCR / document processing
  • ERP or CRM integrations
  • Automated testing and CI/CD

Manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.

Education

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Demonstrated technical ability, problem-solving skills, and effective use of modern AI development tools are more important than a specific degree.
