Software Engineer Onboard Maps

You will own an onboard live-map estimator that fuses map priors with perception. You will build change detection, define map-trust interfaces, create evaluation and regression pipelines, and ship real-time C++ estimation software for embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the onboard live-map estimator end to end
• Build onboard map change detection from divergence between maps and perception
• Define map-trust contracts, confidence semantics, and degraded-mode behavior
• Build ground-truth, metrics, and regression-testing pipelines
• Ship real-time C++ estimation code on embedded compute
• Aggregate fleet divergence detections into map-freshness and correction pipelines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of production software experience, including ownership of a shipped estimation core
• Knowledge of factor graphs or filtering, data association, uncertainty propagation, and 3D geometry
• Experience fusing map data, perception output, and raw sensors
• Strong modern C++ experience for real-time embedded compute
• Experience building ground-truth or metrics pipelines and preventing regressions
• Experience defining systems and interfaces with consumer teams
