Position Summary:
Provide Computer/ IT technical support to customer base
Essential Function:
- Configure, test and maintain computer systems to include servers, workstations, laptops, and chromebooks
- Identify, diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity problems.
- Basic network cabling troubleshooting experience
- Maintain and support customer workstations and LAN environment.
- Proactively monitor the company networks to detect and resolve problems and ensure uninterrupted operations of the networks.
- Establish effective levels of communication with the user community including; problem resolution and documentation
- Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades and routine hardware configuration.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications for partnership with key vendors.
- Perform other IT related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Four-year college degree or a 2-year degree from Vocational/Technical Institute in related field of industry.
- Hands-on experience with implementing and administration of networking devices and computer systems
- Desktop and laptop installation and problem resolution in a Windows environment
- Previous responsibility for providing customer support
- Experience with technical/PC support.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer presentation skills
- Able to travel within the Birmingham Metro area

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
