We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental assistant/ Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the primary point of contact for our patients, delivering exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced dental office. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various systems (open dental software) to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar efficiently.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Collect patient information, including vital signs when necessary, and verify insurance details.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Handle incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner.
- Assist dental staff with administrative tasks as needed, including managing medical imaging and documentation.
- Uphold aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, understanding and dental procedure for a general dental assistant.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures, including prosthodontics and general dentistry, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
- Ability to assist in various capacities within the office, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
