Overview
Prime Stone Design is a recognized industry leader in countertop fabrication and sales, known for craftsmanship, precision, and exceptional customer service. We're expanding our finance team and currently seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Accounting Clerk to play a key role in our day-to-day financial operations.
Duties
- Review and verify invoices and check requests for accuracy and proper authorization
- Enter and upload invoices into accounting systems (Applied EPIC and Bill.com)
- Process electronic payments and paper checks for vendors and expenses
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Maintain vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly
- Support month-end closing tasks and internal audits by providing necessary documentation
- Review internal employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance
- Assist with surplus lines tax filings across various states
- Act as a secondary backup for administrative tasks, including answering incoming office calls
- Work closely with a small, skilled accounting team (2–3 team members)
- Continuously seek to improve AP processes and increase workflow efficiency
- Assist with accounts receivable (AR) reconciliation as needed
- Generate and send customer invoices
- Post incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit card)
- Follow up on past-due accounts and send payment reminders
- Reconcile AR ledger and assist in collections
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- File and organize receipts, invoices, and financial reports (digitally or physically)
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
- Manage incoming/outgoing mail related to accounting
- Answer phones or handle front-desk duties when needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is desirable but not mandatory for candidates with relevant experience.
