Position Summary:
Freedom Recovery, LLC is seeking a compassionate and creative Activities Specialist to design and facilitate therapeutic, recreational, and wellness-based activities for individuals in recovery. This role supports clients in developing life skills, building social connections, and enhancing their overall well-being as part of their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and Facilitate Activities:
- Develop and lead structured group activities including art therapy, music, fitness, mindfulness, journaling, and life skills workshops.
- Organize recreational outings and community engagement events that align with recovery goals.
- Client Engagement:
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for clients to participate in activities.
- Encourage participation and adapt activities to meet diverse needs and abilities.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with clinical staff to align activities with treatment plans.
- Communicate regularly with case managers and therapists regarding client progress and participation.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, activity outcomes, and client feedback.
- Assist in evaluating program effectiveness and suggest improvements.
- Resource Management:
- Manage activity supplies and budget responsibly.
- Coordinate with vendors or volunteers when needed for special events.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies and safety standards.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional challenges during activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working in behavioral health, substance use recovery, or social services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead groups and adapt activities to various populations.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients (if applicable).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
