The Admissions Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting the enrollment efforts of a campus, college, school, or department. Their responsibilities are diverse and essential for attracting and retaining students.


  • The Admission Counselor engages with prospective students to provide detailed information about the admissions process, academic programs, and other relevant topics. This often involves one-on-one meetings, phone calls, emails, and virtual sessions. All interactions are input and maintained in the University's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • The Admission Counselor develops and distributes various communication materials to attract potential students. This includes brochures, flyers, email campaigns, social media posts, and website content. They also create personalized communication strategies within the CRM ensuring that prospective student receives relevant and timely information.
  • The Admission Counselor organizes and represents the university at various onsite/offsite events. They serve as the face of the institution, providing information, answering questions, and building relationships with prospective students. They also work to establish and maintain community relationships to build a pipeline of prospective students for the university.
  • The Admission Counselor will assist in analyzing enrollment data and trends to identify areas for improvement and to develop strategies for increasing student enrollment.
  • The Admission Counselor works closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive and supportive experience for students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with 5 years of administrative experience. At least one year of experience must involve administrative or program support duties in an academic department or college. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the general administrative experience. This educational substitution does not apply to required year of experience in an academic program.
