Responsibilities:
The Analyst, Ops Strategy supports the Manager, Ops Strategy in ensuring all operational groups have the best setup for success. They conduct analysis, generate and present insights and recommendations to various operational business units.
They evaluate and provide insights to make recommendations which will influence decisions across the operating teams. They work collaboratively with the business units to identify areas of improvements, improve processes, and provide simple, accurate, and integrated performance metrics that drive accountability.
- Performs identified analysis to optimize the operation, including but not limited to setting operational goals, determining adequate MX allocations, setting turn times and operational buffers, and evaluating flight/crew schedules.
- Analyzes the intricacies of flight scheduling and supplies root-cause analysis that drives decision making.
- Work with all operating groups to establish new strategic initiatives and assist in their implementation.
- Develop presentation and debrief materials for senior and executive level leadership and labor.
- Collects and analyzes data to develop actionable solutions that push the operation to greater efficiency and improved performance.
- Facilitate collaboration amongst operating and planning teams to develop recommendations and process improvements.
- Research and benchmark peer airline performance and operational design.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (quantitative or business focus preferred).
- 1-4 years' experience in analytics.
- Experience in travel/hospitality industry or operations preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Data mining/manipulation and analysis skills (e.g., Excel, R, Python, SQL).
- Data visualization skills (Microsoft Power BI preferred).
- Engages in critical thinking, convey ideas effectively and builds relationships.
- Naturally curious with a solution driven mindset.
- Domestic & International travel under 30% of time.
- Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
