Job Description:
This position serves as a dedicated financial specialist responsible for providing financial support and analysis to optimize the financial operations of all three Omaha correctional facilities overseen by the Business Manager III. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial transactions, reporting and data management specific to the assigned facilities. This role specifically focuses on performing financial reviews, reconciliations, data collection and procurement activities to support informed decision making by the Business Manager III.

DUTIES:
- Coordinate and reconcile daily deposit
- Prepare miscellaneous receipts
- Assist with the preparation of various budgets
- Ensure monthly inmate payroll is complete and accurate
- Assists with fixed asset inventory
- Assists with the purchase of office supplies, equipment and services
- Assists with internal fiscal audits
- Answer questions regarding account balances and activity
- Train supervisors to use inmate payroll software
- Answer Inmate Interview Requests
- Review electronic receipts
- Identify and resolve problems when needed.
- Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as needed
- Assists Business Manager as needed
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in public or business administration, accounting, or any discipline related to the work assigned. One year of experience in administrative, business management or technical support work including collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data; or interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and processes. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong attention to detail. Ability to review and interpret financial data. Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Experience with computer, financial, or accounting systems/software (such as Payroll and Financial Center {PFC}), and experience with computer software applications (such as Word, Excel, Power Point).
Other: External applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
