The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our facility. This leadership position requires a dedicated professional with extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care. The ADON will be responsible for managing nursing operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a culture of excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursing department to ensure optimal patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and organizational goals.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to enhance team effectiveness.
- Oversee resident assessments, care plans, and documentation review to ensure accuracy and adherence to MDS requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and improve health outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and Medicare guidelines.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for effective documentation management and record keeping.
- Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels while promoting a positive work environment.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on best practices in nursing administration and patient care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in nursing management or administration within assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of home care services, hospice care protocols, and acute care practices.
- Familiarity with medical records management systems and documentation standards.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Strong analytical skills to assess patient needs and develop effective care plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality of care. This position is essential for maintaining our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services while fostering an environment that supports both staff development and resident well-being.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
