We are currently seeking an Assistant Estimator/Business Development Representative to join our team. The Assistant Estimator is an integral member of the BCI Team.
A partial list of responsibilities include:
Review project plans and specifications to identify scope and potential risks
Prepares subcontractor bid packages
Upload projects and respective bid packages to online bid boards
Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors
Building a sub base as needed
Transmits addenda and other bid information to subcontractors
Ensures that we have the proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day
Contacts supply houses to obtain additional subcontractor bids
Shows creativity and resourcefulness to procure favorable pricing and/or terms with subcontractors
Assist the estimator in submitting 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline - no exceptions
Project Knowledge and thorough understanding of scope
Be able to follow up and close a deal
Coordinate and execute several projects in parallel, balancing priorities to meet deadlines
Assist with receiving 1 ITB per quarter for a new program/client
Conduct research to identify programs that fit BCI’s focus and goals
Generate leads for those programs
Conduct consistent outreach to new leads
Requirements:
1 year experience in construction and/or sales.
Must have a valid driver's license and have acceptable driving record, background check and clean drug test results.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, basic business math.
Proficient with computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook including email attachments.
Familiar with ProCore (preferred)
Familiar with Building Connected (preferred)
Experience in creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules.
Must be able to fill out misc forms, contracts, and spreadsheets.
Leverage critical analysis and adaptive solutions to address compress issues
Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
