Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Property Manager to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our property management activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a solid understanding of property management practices, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
Duties
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the property, including tenant relations and property maintenance.
- Handle leasing activities, including showing units, processing applications, and preparing lease agreements.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and filing systems.
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi and OneSite for tracking leases, maintenance requests, and tenant communications.
- Support conflict management efforts by addressing tenant concerns and resolving disputes in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with vendors for facilities management and maintenance services as needed.
- Assist in upselling available units or services to prospective tenants.
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining positive relationships with residents and responding promptly to inquiries.
Qualifications
- Experience in property management or real estate administration is preferred.
- Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and Section 8 housing regulations is a plus.
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations.
- Proficiency in Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building strong relationships with tenants.
- Strong negotiation skills for handling contracts and lease agreements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of conflict management strategies to effectively address tenant issues.
- Previous experience in sales or upselling techniques is beneficial.
