The Prior Authorization department is hiring for an Authorization Supervisor. This is a US based remote position. It requires day time hours Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff in their primary duties to collect on outstanding patient receivables, offer in-house financing options, resolve credit balances and reduce overall aged receivables.
- Maintain high team standards for work accountability and professionalism for our customers and within the Myriad organization.
- Ensure the team adheres to company directed training, security, privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Assist Director in employee career development projects as needed.
- Conduct meetings, coordinate internal and external training events.
- Help establish best practices for conflict resolution and receivable management benchmarks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must have a minimum of 4 years experience working in prior authorizations, medical billing/collections or in contact management center based support role.
- Experience supervising a team of authorization professionals desired
- Must have strong customer service, verbal communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Thorough understanding of the insurance claim adjudication process, including pre-authorizations, CPT and ICD-9 coding, appeals and coordination of benefits.
- Thorough understanding of applicable HIPAA and FDCPA regulations
- Excellent organizational, communication, multitasking and teamwork building / mentoring skills.
Physical & Lifting Requirements
- Lifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
- Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating and observing.
- Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
