Bell/Valet Job Objective
The Bell/Valet plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest service by ensuring a seamless arrival and departure experience. Responsibilities include warmly greeting guests, opening doors, parking vehicles, assisting with luggage, providing information about the hotel and local attractions, responding promptly to guest requests, and offering directions as needed.
This position requires upholding the highest standards of service in alignment with the mission, core values, and goals established by the company. Familiarity and compliance with L’Auberge Carmel and Mirabel Hotel and Restaurant Group’s Mission and Service Standards, as well as Relais & Châteaux’s 5 C’s and philosophy, are essential in performing all key responsibilities and duties.
- Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a genuinely warm and friendly manner.
- Maintain the integrity of the guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key control.
- Greet guests at the front door or car upon arrival, throughout their stay, and at departure.
- Escort incoming and outgoing hotel guests to and from rooms, assists with luggage, and offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of the hotel, points of interest, and entertainment attractions.
- Inspect the guest room supplies during the refresh/resetting of the coffee tray, beverages in the minifridge, and stripping of the guest room.
- Explain features of the room such as the operation of a Wi-Fi network, coffee station, radiant floor heating, etc.
- Clean and sweep public areas, tidied the courtyard, and ensured rain procedures are adhered to.
- Assist with delivering In-Room Dining Breakfast during “busy times” when needed.
- Assist with coffee service, drink service in The Lobby or Courtyard, and limited food service as required.
- Delivers amenities, both perishable and non-perishable, prior to guests' arrival. This includes champagne, wine, fruit/snacks, caramels, trail mix, flowers, and other items that are requested, ordered, or arranged.
- Maintain cleanliness of Mercedes-Benz as per protocols. Ensure the mileage log is complete each week and provided to Front Desk.
- Valet park and retrieve guest cars as needed. Ensure no parking tickets are issued.
- Act as Chauffeur for guests as needed or directed by the Front Desk or management team.
- Deliver amenities, items, packages, suitcases, and any other requested items.
- Coordinate daily tempo with Front Desk and Housekeeping utilizing the “Room Plan.”
- Maintain the image of the hotel by appearing extremely presentable, well-groomed, and in a pressed uniform.
- Adhere to the Key Control policy and procedure according to set standards.
- Responsible for clear and effective communications between co-workers, management, and other departments.
- Adhere to and promotes Relais & Chateaux, Forbes, and Mirabel Hotel & Restaurant Group's mission and standards.
- Any downtime should be occupied with tasks given from Front Desk, organizing HSKP spaces/storage, and preparing for increased business levels.
