Job Description:
We are looking for an engaging and skilled Bellydance Teacher to join our dance faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in bellydance technique, experience teaching various styles (such as Egyptian, Turkish, Tribal Fusion, or modern interpretations), and the ability to create an inspiring and welcoming classroom environment. This teacher will encourage students to explore movement, musicality, and self-expression while learning the cultural significance of bellydance.
Responsibilities:
- Teach bellydance classes to students of different ages and levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Develop lesson plans that focus on technique, musicality, improvisation, and choreography.
- Incorporate cultural and historical context to deepen students’ understanding of bellydance traditions.
- Prepare students for recitals, showcases, and/or community events.
- Provide personalized instruction and constructive feedback to help each dancer grow.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Stay current with bellydance repertoire, music, and teaching methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in bellydance, with performance and/or teaching experience.
- Knowledge of different bellydance styles and their cultural origins.
- Previous teaching experience in a studio/school/ community setting or performance experience.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and ability to inspire confidence in students.
- Passion for cultural appreciation, artistry, and body-positive dance education.
