We are currently seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team. The home site for this position will be in Cook or Bigfork, willing to consider hybrid work after in-person training in Cook. The weekly schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8am – 5:00 pm.
Summary of Position
The Billing Specialist is responsible for performing billing functions related to patient insurance charges for medical, dental and behavioral health services. This position may also be cross trained to perform additional billing functions when appropriate. Scenic Rivers Health Services (SRHS) embraces the team approach to healthcare. Essential Functions
- Review provider charges in electronic health records (EHR) system, including visits for clinical, dental, emergency room, hospital, and nursing home services.
- Promptly submit accurate and complete claims to appropriate insurance companies to maximum reimbursement and minimize rejections and refiling
- Provide support to patients over the phone and in-person with understanding billing requirements and procedures while maintaining a high level of customer service
- Maintain and update patient billing accounts including collections and payment plans
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in a timely manner; communicate with third party payors, patients, providers and staff as needed
- Stay current on billing system rules, procedures, and payer requirements.
