Biomedical Equipment Technician – DCHUX Surgery Center (Part-Time → Full-Time)
Location: Washington, DC
DCHUX Surgery Center is the only privately held ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in Washington, DC. Our newly constructed facility will go live in the next 45–60 days and features 2 operating rooms, 1 procedure room, and 5 perioperative bays. We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our founding team. This role will start as part-time with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as the center expands.
Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair biomedical devices across surgical and perioperative areas.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation.
- Collaborate with clinical and leadership teams to ensure safe, reliable operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- CBET certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 2 years).
- 1–3 years of biomedical equipment experience in a hospital or ASC setting.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, safety, and teamwork skills.
Compensation:
- $27–$35/hour, commensurate with experience.
- Higher rates available for CBET-certified or highly experienced candidates.
