Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank statements.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing and payments.
- Conduct bank reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation on a regular basis.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards where applicable.
- Utilize accounting software such as Xero and Sage for efficient record-keeping.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and procedures.
Skills
- Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with governmental accounting is a plus.
- Familiarity with general ledger reconciliation processes.
- Competence in bank reconciliation tasks.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly financial records.
- Need to be proficient in Foundation for Construction or Quickbooks online
