Job Purpose

The Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and implementing initiatives that drive value for money, enhance customer compliance, increase account registrations, reduce complaints, and improve performance against key performance indicators. This role plays a key part in gathering, documenting, and maintaining business and technical requirements while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reporting and analytics.


In addition to analyzing data and developing dashboards, the Business Analyst supports performance monitoring through automated operational reporting and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Analysts, IT Systems Managers, and Finance teams to optimize business processes. This position also involves direct engagement with clients and external stakeholders, leading discussions, and ensuring a professional representation of the company while driving data-driven business solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Performance Monitoring: Design and test automated operational reporting to track key performance indicators and business performance.
  • Dashboard Development: Assist in the creation and maintenance of dashboards and queries using Power BI to provide real-time insights.
  • Value-Driven Initiatives: Identify and introduce initiatives that drive value for money, enhance customer compliance, and increase account registrations.
  • Issue Resolution: Analyze data trends to proactively identify and address root causes of customer complaints and operational inefficiencies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with internal teams, including Business Intelligence Analysts, Data Scientists, and IT Systems Managers, to support data analysis needs.
  • Business Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Data Repository Oversight: Assist in maintaining the Data Repository, ensuring proper storage of data streams, data dictionaries, and data retention policies.
  • System Enhancements: Work alongside IT teams to optimize data reporting systems, implement improvements, and support ongoing system updates.
  • Power BI & Tool Utilization: Leverage business intelligence tools, including Power BI, to support reporting accuracy and operational analysis.
  • Strong Documentation Skills: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for reporting processes, data sources, and business intelligence solutions to ensure consistency and transparency.
  • Requirement Gathering: Identify, document, and maintain business and technical requirements to support reporting, analytics, and system enhancements.
  • Process Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for business processes, reporting methodologies, and technical workflows.
  • Professional Representation: Act as a professional steward of the company, ensuring all interactions with clients, customers, and external stakeholders are conducted with professionalism and expertise.
  • Client-Facing Communication: Effectively interact with external clients to discuss findings, provide recommendations, and support business needs.
  • Leading Discussions: Lead discussions and working sessions with internal teams, clients, and leadership to drive decision-making and business solutions.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support business goals and ensure the effective implementation of initiatives.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience analyzing complex data sets and generating actionable insights to drive business decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar for dashboard creation and reporting.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with databases to extract and manipulate data.
  • Experience in designing and testing automated operational reports to track key performance indicators and business performance.
  • Experience identifying and implementing initiatives that drive value for money, increase compliance, and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business performance and implement strategies to enhance KPIs.
  • Experience using data-driven insights to identify the root causes of customer complaints and operational inefficiencies.
  • Ability to work with business leaders and operational teams to translate requirements into analytical solutions.
  • Ability to interact professionally with external clients, customers, and stakeholders to discuss findings, make recommendations, and provide business support.
  • Experience in leading meetings, facilitate discussions, and drive business conversations with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Strong experience in documenting business and technical requirements, process flows, and reporting methodologies.
  • Experience managing data repositories, data streams, data dictionaries, and implementing data retention policies.
  • Knowledge of optimizing data reporting systems and supporting ongoing system improvements.
  • Proven ability to document business intelligence solutions, reporting processes, and data management best practices.
  • Experience automating reporting processes and workflows using SQL, Python, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the business

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Certifications in Business Intelligence (Power BI, Tableau), Data Analytics, or Project Management (PMP, CAPM, Lean Six Sigma, or CBAP) are highly desirable.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel may be needed based on business needs
