Helping Hand House has been providing emergency shelter and supportive services for the past 40 years to help families with children experiencing homelessness move from crisis to stability. We are currently seeking a dedicated and hands on Case Manager to join our team!

As a Case Manager, your primary responsibility is to develop and maintain positive, healthy relationships with Helping Hand House’s client families while working toward securing and maintaining permanent housing solutions. The Case Manager works in collaboration with other members of HHH staff to help program participants establish achievable goals to secure and maintain an acceptable housing solution, ensuring accountability and progress toward those goals for successful program results, ending their crises of homelessness.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATONS:

- Experience: Proven experience in case management, preferably in human/social services.
- Communication: Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Work Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deescalate crisis situations with composure.

- Organization, Planning and Multi-Tasking: Excellent organizational, project-planning and management skills. Proven ability to set priorities, coordinate activities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.

- Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as a member of the team; be detailed-oriented and consistently accurate; manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment; and quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures and adapt local practices to global standards.

- Transportation: Possess reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and the ability to operate agency-owned vehicles.

- Confidentiality: As the work of Helping Hand House includes the significant collection of personal, confidential information, the ability to maintain the confidentiality of said information regarding the program and business operations of Helping Hand House is a must.

PREFERRED:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

- Knowledge of motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, housing best practices, and community resources.

- Possess the heart, humility and willingness to serve those in crisis situations.

- Operate within a culture of mutual trust, creativity, agility and accountability.

- Possess the ability to withhold judgement, accept direction when necessary, and manage one’s self and one’s affairs in a manner that compliments Helping Hand House and the agency’s programs.
