POSITION DETAILS:
- Spectrix Analytical Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated bench scientist to support the functional assays group at the client’s Cambridge Crossing site.
- You will Help design, implement and execute assays to screen biologics for hit identification and functional characterization leveraging diverse technologies.
- The position is located at our client’s research facility in Cambridge, MA. Flexible non-traditional work hours may eventually be scheduled anytime between 7 am and 6pm.
Responsibilities
· Explore commercial sources or assist with design and execute appropriate cellular assays for mechanistic characterization of candidate biologics including signaling, internalization, cell killing using immortalized and primary cells.
· Develop cell lines for binding and functional screening assays.
· Characterize protein reagents to be used as targets for in vitro selection or assay components by biochemical or cell-based methods.
· Analyze and present data to stakeholders.
· Document experiments meticulously in Electronic Notebook and by uploading to relevant database.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Selected candidates will be required to:
- B.S. or M.S in cell biology/immunology/cancer biology, with 2-4+ years of industry or relevant laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience in setting up cellular assays with a variety of readouts to dissect mechanism of action and function of potential therapeutics; strong understanding of assay development would be a plus.
- Flow cytometry, Incucyte or imaging experience a must; experience with other cellular assay technologies and instrumentation would be a plus.
- Experience in assay miniaturization for plate-based screening is desirable.
- Experience with analysis and data visualization tools like Graphpad Prism, Spotfire would be a plus.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and technical skills are required, along with demonstrated initiative-taking and innovative thinking including implementation of new experimental approaches and technologies
- Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, strong work ethic, broad scientific interests.
