We’re Dr. Shah and Dr. Maxfield — dermatologists who built one of the largest digital dermatology platforms in the world, with 22+ million followers across social media. What started as two doctors creating educational videos has grown into a global community that cares deeply about skin health and evidence-based education.
Alongside our media presence, we’ve expanded into collaborations, services, and consumer products. But here’s the reality: while our reach is massive, the systems behind the scenes haven’t caught up. We don’t yet have the operational infrastructure, community programs, or sustainable pathways that match the scale of our audience.
That’s why we’re hiring a Chief of Staff, Media Operations — a strategic partner who can help us transform our media ecosystem into a professionalized, sustainable business and community platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Infrastructure: Design and implement operating systems for media operations — including content workflows, cross-platform integration, and organizational processes that support scale.
- Community Building: Launch and manage newsletters, memberships, subscriber-exclusive content, and engagement funnels to strengthen community connection.
- Audience Data & CRM: Develop systems to capture and organize audience data (email, SMS, memberships, private platforms) and translate it into meaningful engagement strategies
- Content-to-Product Pipeline: Ensure content connects seamlessly to our broader initiatives, including collaborations, services, and owned consumer brands.
- Partnerships & Collaborations: Collaborate with our partnerships team to evaluate, negotiate, and integrate values-aligned brand partnerships
- Team Leadership: Recruit, lead, and mentor a lean, high-performing team (e.g., community managers, video editors, operations staff).
- Analytics & Growth: Define and own KPIs around reach, retention, engagement, and community health; ensure initiatives are measured and optimized.
- P&L Management: Oversee budgets and financial performance across media operations, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support long-term sustainability.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in media operations, community building, creator economy, or digital brand management.
- Proven ability to design and scale operational systems for digital media or creator-driven businesses.
- Experience with P&L management, budgeting, and financial accountability.
- Strong grasp of social media dynamics, community engagement strategies, and consumer brand ecosystems
- Demonstrated ability to balance high-level strategy with day-to-day execution.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
