Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to serve as Supervisor for the Labor and Delivery Department. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about patient-centered care and staff development. The Supervisor will oversee daily operations, ensure safe and effective patient care, and foster a supportive, growth-oriented environment for the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise daily staffing assignments to ensure safe and effective coverage.
- Provide orientation, training, mentoring, and ongoing competency development for staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage coaching and corrective actions in collaboration with leadership.
- Monitor and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care aligned with evidence-based practices.
- Support staff with equipment, supplies, and resources needed for safe clinical care.
- Step into direct patient care as needed to meet staffing requirements.
- Lead resolution of complex patient care issues and complaints through established channels.
- Manage departmental performance improvement projects and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures.
- Support professional growth and team development within the department.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and timekeeping for staff.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or eligible for compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Ability to obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire.
- Ability to obtain Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring and STABLE certification within one year of hire.
- Strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in labor and delivery or a related specialty.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and performance improvement initiatives.
