Responsibilities:
The Privileging Specialist completes and processes hospital privilege applications and provides follow-up to ensure clinician is privileged to start on proposed target start date.
- Process hospital privilege applications on behalf of new and existing clinicians as needed
- Communicates on a regular basis with the medical staff offices to obtain status updates
- Maintains and updates credentialing database with status and necessary data elements
- Documents all tasks, phone calls, emails and other forms of communication during the credentialing process in the database
- Conducts written and verbal follow up to determine application status
- Escalates all issues to the appropriate members of management staff, region, and/or internal clinical onboarding team as necessary
- Responds promptly to all questions, received via phone or email, regarding privileges
- Communicates with all necessary internal departments as needed
- Develops and maintains good relationships with medical staff offices
- Participates in divisional huddle meetings
- Completes other tasks or projects as assigned
Experience/Education:
Two (2) years related privileging experience in healthcare.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of Medical processes (credentialing and privileges)

- Strong Interpersonal skills
