Description
Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the CNC Operator is responsible for the manufacture of parts per plant specifications in an accurate and timely manner utilizing manual and CNC cutting centers, completing the required cutting operations for special orders, secondary operations on production components, and primary operations on CNC cut components.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC cutting centers. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to applicable quality, customer, and company standards.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer and work instructions and making suggestions for repairs.
- Closely monitor for problems in the production process and check accuracy of the finished pieces against drawings using calibrated measuring tools.
- Assure product and production environment meets company and customer expectations of quality, productivity, organization and workmanship.
- Assist team leaders and peers as directed, Train other machinists on various machines.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of a high school education and two or more years of machining experience including the completion of equivalent training and/or on-the-job experience.
- Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Must perform metric conversions
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
- Familiar with milling and turning tools, offset adjustment and tool replacement.
- G code and M code proficient
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to use precise measuring devices incidental to operations such as ruler, calipers, micrometers, and square and fixed gauges.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work with minimal supervision.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
