Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and estimating, with the ability to assess vehicle damage accurately and provide comprehensive estimates for repairs. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians. The Body Shop Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction while maximizing the efficiency of our repair process.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate damaged vehicles and determine the necessary repairs required for restoration.
- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for bodywork, mechanical repairs, and parts needed.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair options, timelines, and costs.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure all aspects of the repair process are understood and executed efficiently.
- Upsell additional services or repairs as appropriate based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Maintain thorough documentation of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and manage payments for services rendered.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive repair.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong background in auto service management or service writing.
- Experience in upselling services and parts to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Mechanic experience with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repair, tire service, alignment, suspension work, air brake systems, shocks & struts, transmissions, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair.
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
- Experience in automotive estimating is highly desirable along with sales experience within the automotive sector. Pay: $40,000.00 - $63,326.34 per year
