General Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Communications and Public Engagement, the Communication Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive communication services, support, and oversight for assigned Educational Service District 112 school districts as well as other internal and external ESD 112 projects/programs.
Salary:
The full compensation range for this position is $81,265.60 - $98,883.20. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
Assignment:
This position is full-time, year-round. It is a hybrid position based out of our Vancouver, Washington campus and offers a flexible schedule within our 8:00am - 4:30pm. office hours. Interviews for this position are tentatively planned for September 4th and 5th.

Essential Functions/Other Functions
Essential Functions:
- Manage communications projects and community engagement activities for assigned school district partners and ESD 112 programs.
- Manage school district and ESD 112 content gathering, writing, and creation in electronic and print formats including visual and multimedia assets such as graphics and graphic design elements, photography, and video content.
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans for assigned districts and ESD 112 programs to share relevant information, address challenges, and enhance public awareness.
- Oversee content drafting and management for school district websites, intranets, digital newsletters/newsrooms.
- Develop and manage social media strategies and social media accounts, including identifying measurable goals, gathering and planning out content, posting and creating analytics reports, and maintaining social listening reports.
- Conduct market and public opinion research using survey tools to assess program outcomes and analyze, interpret, and report data.
- Identify and promote ESD 112 communication service offerings.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with school district personnel, community members, and the news media.
- Support crisis communication planning and response efforts for school districts and ESD 112.
- Produce high-quality graphics and graphic design elements using professional tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications, ensuring brand consistency and accessibility standards across all platforms.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Writing, or related field.
- Project management experience that includes managing multiple projects at once.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Experience managing electronic newsletter and print publication services.
- Experience creating and managing social media including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter/X and Instagram.
- Experience with creative writing and AP style.
- Experience using professional graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Recent experience in public relations and communications training.
- Experience with school district operations.
- Recent experience in social media management and best practices.

- Frequent travel within the ESD 112 region.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a criminal history records and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
