Summary
The Premade Technician is primarily responsible for preparing compounded medications into their final dispensing container(s) while under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
This position reports directly to the Compounding Pharmacist in Charge in conjunction with the Compounding Director of Pharmacy.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Certified Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (obtained within first 6 months)
- Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Registered (obtained within first 90 days)
- Good organizational skills
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others, including patients and providers
- Highly dependable in attendance and job performance
- Strong mathematical computation skills
- Good computer skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrates an awareness of the responsibility of his/her position under the law, within the pharmacy, and as it relates to the pharmacy’s practice of compounding, including all state and national laws, regulations, and standards.
- Maintains a clean/sanitary work environment.
- Knowledgeable in and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
- Repacks manufactured creams, liquids, powders, vials, etc.
- Prepares large multi-prescription orders.
- Counts, measures and labels compounded medications.
- Assists with non-sterile lab daily, monthly, and quarterly cleaning.
- Properly uses compounding equipment such as balances and measuring devices.
- Prepares and organizes all supplementary documents for each order (i.e. patient education).
- Affixes appropriate patient and auxiliary labels.
- Pulls expired and expiring chemicals and batched medications when necessary.
- Maintains proper workflow in conjunction with compounding technicians.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
