JOB DESCRIPTION
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Facilitate the development, management and evaluation of key medication management strategies in partnership with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
- Identify new clinical programs through marketplace and data analyses. Manage the adoption, implementation and evaluation of these approaches.
- Apply Lean and other Quality Improvement Project principles to existing and new utilization management initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiencies
- Direct the development of clinical management strategies for drugs and drug classes. This includes conducting drug reviews and proposing coverage criteria for evaluation and adoption by the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
- Partner with others to communicate the value of our clinical programs to external purchasers.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key management staff, medical directors, and internal departments.
- Facilitate the Quality Utilization Improvement program for specialty pharmacy.
- Participate in the management of specialty pharmacy partner relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Current Pharmacist License in the State of Minnesota
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency or 2 years in managed care pharmacy leadership
- Able to assess and utilize business data to detect opportunities and issues; strong analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with peers and customers
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Specialty pharmacy and/or medical benefit management experience
- Familiarity with HealthPartners clinical pharmacy programs and systems
