HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
We are looking for a hands-on Consumer Insights Manager to help BSN SPORTS better understand our customers — from B2B coaches and athletic directors to D2C consumers and fans. This role will directly design and execute research studies, analyze internal and external data, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights that guide decision-making. The right candidate is equally comfortable creating surveys, interviewing coaches, analyzing data sets, and presenting insights to leadership. While this is a roll-up-your-sleeves execution role today, it also offers the opportunity to shape our consumer insights function as it grows in the future.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Consumer & Market Research: Design and run surveys, interviews, focus groups, and quick-turn research projects. Identify what customers and coaches want, their pain points, and where they prefer self-service vs. human interaction. Conduct trend and competitor research across high school, club, collegiate, and youth sports.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze survey responses, internal data, and market information to identify patterns and opportunities. Build clear, concise readouts with actionable recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams. Use DIY research tools and platforms to quickly generate insights when needed.
- Voice of the Customer: Own customer feedback programs (e.g., surveys, NPS, feedback loops) and ensure insights are captured and acted upon. Partner with internal teams to close the loop on key customer issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, digital, sales, and product teams to inform strategy with customer insights. Serve as the “Voice of the Customer” in decision-making conversations.
- Future Growth: Help define the roadmap for insights at BSN SPORTS. Build scalable processes today that can expand into a larger insights function tomorrow.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Comfortable analyzing data, creating reports, and telling a story with insights.
- Experience using research tools/platforms (survey platforms, social listening, etc.).
- Excellent communicator who can make complex findings simple and actionable.
- Curious, hands-on, and energized by getting into the details.
- Experience in sports, retail, or consumer products industries preferred but not required.
- Ability to balance quick-turn research with deeper studies.
- Passion for understanding customers and turning their voices into clear insights.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Market Research, Psychology, Business Analytics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in consumer or customer insights, with a proven ability to design and run research studies end-to-end.
- Strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative methods (survey design, focus groups, interviews, trend analysis).
