Job Overview
The Continuous Improvement and Quality Leader will assist with the overall management of the Quality System. This position is in a hybrid setting (office and plant) supporting Quality and Engineering teams. *This is not a quality inspector position though product review is a relevant task*
Duties
The day to day management of the Quality System includes, but not limited to, the following:
- Recommend and implement methods for continuous improvement in product and process quality, cost of quality, and supplier performance
- Assist in the control and revision of the Quality Assurance Manual and Divisional Procedures on a periodic basis as defined by the Management Representative
- To facilitate the problem solving report using the customer 8D / 5-Why form across several divisions
- Lead and support the successful execution of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process - new product launches, change management initiatives, and process improvements
- Assist with internal audits as necessary
- Represent the needs of Ajax Metal Processing regarding quality of service and customer satisfaction
- Develop internal quality scoring system and administer departmental trending
- Assist in identifying training needs for QMS systems
- Develop supplier monitoring and reporting/ feedback
- Assist with supplier selection approvals
- Provide support for other departments (sales, PPAP, Engineering, Mfg., production control) such as following up with suppliers, technical data requests, customer standards
Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 Years of Quality Assurance Experience
- Prior Experience in Metal Finishing a plus
- Demonstrated MS Excel experience
- Previous Customer Service Experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate in an effective manner
