(then Allied Signal located in Morristown, NJ) pioneered the development and production of amorphous metal, a unique alloy that exhibits a structure in which the metal atoms occur in a random pattern. The key to Metglas Inc.’s proprietary manufacturing process is the rapid-solidification of molten alloy at a rate of approximately one million degrees Celsius per second.
We are currently hiring a Customer Service Representative for our busy 24/7 manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Provide premier customer service in evolving customer service organization.
- Extensive customer contact through order taking and problem solving.
- Responsible for managing the customers request from the time of inquiry, through order placement, shipment, and invoicing, to ensure customers complete satisfaction. Support trading companies.
- Understand domestic and export order entry process and implications of decisions/actions taken.
- Able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Complete order entry function in a timely and accurate manner and provide back-up coverage as necessary.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate leader as necessary, to ensure timely resolution.
- Proactively identify issues and take action to prevent problems and customer dissatisfaction.
Key Success Factors: (Specific expectations during next 6 – 18 months):
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with external customers, other customer service representatives, computer support personnel, and supply chain team.
- Effectively communicate throughout organization.
- Become knowledgeable in handling customer orders and solving problems.
- Develop strong knowledge base about customers, internal systems and process to enable independent, self-directed work.
Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:
- Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to complete multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of international documentation and letters of credit.
- Exhibits strong initiative.
- Excellent follow-up and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of PC required with willingness to learn new software programs.
Experience/Education Required/Sought:
- Computer skills a must.
- **3-5 years experience in a customer-based manufacturing or industrial sales environment.
- Entry level sales/marketing experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in export operations, is a plus, including international export documentation.

The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) are the primary export control regulations in the United States. The successful candidate will be required to show proof substantiating their status as a U.S. Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder.
