Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting and be familiar with various dental procedures and technologies.
This role is crucial in providing excellent patient care, supporting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. The Dental Assistant will work closely with patients, helping to create a comfortable environment while adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards and regulations.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in EMR systems.
- Maintain patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding as required by HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including dental receptionist tasks.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout all procedures.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical imaging techniques is beneficial.
- Proficient in chairside assisting with a strong understanding of dental procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks related to pediatric dentistry effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
