Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Register patients by verifying demographic information and insurance details
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, providing accurate information or directing calls to the appropriate staff member
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with insurance verification and claims processing
- Utilize medical terminology, coding, and ICD-9 knowledge as needed
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as necessary
- Present treatment plans and make third party financial arrangements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a medical office or dental office
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and insurance verification is a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
