At our Medical Dermatology Group, our provider is a leader in the field of medical and cosmetic dermatology, Side and is located on the Upper East side of Manhattan.
Research/Medical Assistant
- Assist the physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures in research
- Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization, and procedures within established guidelines
- Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
- Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
- Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
- Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities
- Learn from current research coordinators and conduct part-time research when Dermatology skills are up to par, under the supervision of the principal investigator and clinical research manager
- Help with research publications
Qualifications
- A College Degree is required, and if applying to medical school, the MCAT must be completed
- This is a 2 year position.
- Dermatology medical assistant experience is required.
- Experience using ModMed EMR software and patient scheduling systems a plus
- Experience working in healthcare or in healthcare research
- Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Excellent patient relations and customer services skills
