We are currently seeking a Design Operations Coordinator to join our bridal design development team in Lenexa, KS. The Design Operations Coordinator will have impeccable attention to detail and accuracy as they will be responsible for processing and proactively monitoring the development of new styles within the collections.
The Design Operations Coordinator will work closely with and support the global designer team, as well as our international manufacturing partners.
This position works within a larger design team to collaborate with other areas of design including planning and development, as well as cross-departmentally with global teams, who all work together to contribute to creating seasonal collections.
*This position will work onsite Mon – Fri.*
What You Will Do:
- Thoroughly check and assess designer process materials to ensure workability for the factory for allocated labels.
- Communicate regularly with designers and factories to ensure that design process materials meet standard and queries are resolved.
- Review and report weekly on progress, delays, and work to solve any issues that arise.
- Liaises with the designers and factories through the design process and work in progress items.
- Create, update, maintain and monitor design work through the PLM software, communicating and escalating as needs arise.
- Follow up with Designers for any outstanding factory queries, comments, and approvals.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related degree is preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience in clothing design assisting, coordination, or relevant clothing design field.
- Experience working alongside design and other business teams/stakeholders.
- Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to self-manage working effectively to a deadline.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey thoughts very clearly in writing to our offshore factories / vendors as well as colleagues in other countries where email is the primary form of communication.
- Procedure and process-oriented with the ability to carefully follow and contribute to departmental projects and timelines, and clearly document processes for communication.
- Technology savvy, quick at picking up new systems, curious about discovering and leveraging new tools to create efficiencies, and strong working knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - particularly Illustrator preferred.
- Familiarity with PLM software preferred.
- Technical knowledge of garment construction including knowledge of sewing advantageous.
- Must have a strong work ethic, be a team player, and the flexibility to support departmental activities outside of the standard work hours.
