Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and design, with proficiency in CAD software. As a Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in creating accurate technical drawings and schematics that support our engineering and design projects. This position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Produce technically correct and dimensionally accurate drawings using 2D and 3D CAD packages to meet company expectations
- Interface as required with fellow drafting department team members and engineers
- Modify and create hydraulic/pneumatic flow diagrams and electrical schematics utilizing company standard symbols and engineering guidance
- Create assembly drawings utilizing company/customer specifications and engineering guidance
- Create fabrication/machine drawings utilizing company/customer specifications and engineering guidance
- Create 2D drawings in AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor following company drafting standards and instructions (SMS-10001)
- Create 3D models in AutoDesk Inventor and organize files following company vault database instructions (SMS 10003)
- Organize drawings in Autodesk Vault following company vault database instructions (SMS-10003)
- Perform drawing revisions in a thorough manner, incorporating engineer redlines and utilizing experience to offer suggestions
- Assist in troubleshooting when needed
- Assist manufacturing, as needed, by providing proper guidance to shop technicians pertaining to technical drawings
- Perform other duties as required by management

Qualification/Requirements
- Associate Degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Background knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Effective in the use of AutoCAD 2D
- Working knowledge of 3D software such as AutoDesk Inventor or Solidworks
