KEY RELATIONSHIPS
e-DAT management team, e-DAT partners, staff lawyers, review lawyers, e-DAT director, and litigation support manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist with creation/maintenance/optimization of MS SQL database structures and content; maintain database(s) (SQL Server)
- Adhere to e-DAT’s standard application development methodology in all technology initiatives and the ability to use it
- Modify application system software and/or hardware
- Write specific application programs utilizing various languages, including C++, VB, Ad hoc query tools and report writers, SQL, etc.
- Evaluate requests and provide recommendations/estimates for databases/other projects
- Responsible for application development projects implemented in the firm; track progress and produce regular progress reports to management team
- Integrate existing database systems with new applications to centralize data stores
- Facilitate flow and focus on system efficiencies/maintenance of data authority boundaries
- Establish/implement software quality assurance testing procedures
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with practice group leadership regarding work flow, project status, issues, and resolutions
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Develop and maintain internal development environment
- Provide web infrastructure support
- Provide assistance with planning, design, development, and deployment of IT initiatives
EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED
- B.A. or B.S. degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of system analysis experience in a SQL environment, preferably in a sophisticated law firm or professional services environment
- Equivalent of 2-5 years Windows application development using VB, ASP, .NET tools
- Advanced computer and database technology skills required; litigation support experience preferred
- Must be proactive in assessing and responding to the needs of a diverse user group
- Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, think analytically, and communicate efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrated experience in defining business needs through structured analysis
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts to lay terms for lawyers, paralegals, and clients
- Project management and leadership skills
- Ability to meet obligations with confidentiality and integrity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
ADDITIONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED
- This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The ability to open file cabinets, lift files, bend, and stand on a stool may also be required.
- Occasional travel to other firm offices and/or client or presentation sites as required
- Work within a professional environment that may require unusual hours, overtime and commitment
Compensation Salary $72,000 - $136,000
The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
