Early Childhood Instructor - ComEd Recreational Center

Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate and effective lessons

Ability to prepare detailed lesson plans and activities for a class period

Lead the instruction of Tot Spot participants, according to the lesson plan, in a fun environment while teaching specific developmental techniques

Maintain a positive, safe and nurturing environment

Ensures that safety standards are met, and department and facility policies are adhered to

Provide positive and professional communication with parents and guests

Ensure the safety of all participants during classes, and report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to management

Maintain class log and attendance

Complete other duties as assigned

Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally must aide or assist participants. The employee must have the endurance to complete the instruction of the assigned fitness program.

Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred

Specific Interest in early child development

Experience working with students ages 1 – 5

Minimum age of 18.

Early childhood experience preferred

Ability to maintain a positive and safe environment for all students

Be able to communicate with parents

Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Tuesday & Thursdays from 09:30AM - 12:00PM

Year round with exception of Summer
