Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; Full-Time

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. JOB SUMMARY:

The Instructor, Digital Skills, will facilitate and reinforce learning of students in defined areas of digital literacy to maximize their independent functioning in a work and community environment. The Instructor will plan, develop, implement, and provide case management and evaluations on AI specific digital skills training and credentials for people underserved and economically disadvantaged. The Instructor will also function as a resource, assisting students and coordinating with other community resources and assistance as needed. The Instructor may further develop and implement the existing pre-approved curriculum for the Digital Skills Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Curriculum Development, Design, and Instruction:

  • The Instructor will utilize the pre-approved curriculum as outlined to facilitate the skills necessary to move toward future program viability. The incumbent must fully comprehend the personal skills needed to achieve student educational success and how these components are included in the curriculum. The Instructor will monitor student performance and development and be responsible for assessing the various learning styles of attending participants and adjusting classroom facilitation to meet the needs of students and the program. The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring and documenting student progress. This position may also create a curriculum in new areas.

Development, Implementation, and Case Management of Training Programs:

  • The Instructor will assist in the planning and development of the training programs and will organize resources and coordinate training session logistics such as location and supplies. The incumbent will collaborate on course development, revise existing plans, and assist with researching material for new courses. The incumbent will provide case management to clients and work as the liaison between the clients, Case Managers, Instructors, and other stakeholders involved. The Instructor will maintain open lines of communication with all departments and take advantage of new communication tools/technology. The Instructor is responsible for tracking training, employment, and case management data. The incumbent will enroll participants, track program completion, certifications, and continuing education units as applicable. The incumbent will also generate statistical reports and graphs as required.

Program Documentation, Tracking, and Reporting:

  • The Instructor will be responsible for implementing a pre-approved curriculum as needed. The incumbent will verify and track daily activity as well as time in and time out. The Instructor will be expected to keep statistics that will be required through contracts, foundations, etc. In addition, all other necessary documentation will be completed as needed.

Relationship Management:

  • The Instructor will keep the Manager informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information regarding the classroom environment, student progress, and funding sources. In addition, the instructor will participate in team meetings and in-service training sessions. The incumbent will deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines, communicate significant problems to the Manager, and perform other duties as required by the Manager.

Research and Industry Involvement:

  • The Instructor must research and keep updated by reading trade journals as needed to be aware of trends, theories, or initiatives within the industry and instruction techniques. The incumbent will seek seminars and symposiums for ideas and stay current with trends, tools, and resources available. The Instructor must have a good working knowledge of Goodwill of Colorado’s policies and procedures.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Vocational or Adult Education, IT, or related field is required.

Experience:

  • Prefer at least 2 years’ experience in a classroom setting, teaching adult learning classes and understanding the impact on students as well as the barriers encumbered by students on the road to success.
  • Previous experience working for a Not-for-Profit and low-income client specific to training, credentials and adult learning is preferred.

Other:

  • Must be proficient in basic computer applications to include Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word, Excel, etc.) and using databases.
  • The incumbent should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, writing, and speaking clearly and concisely; demonstrate the ability to interact with various types of internal and external customers.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to work independently, cooperatively and to exercise effective planning, demonstrating excellent organization skills.
  • The instructor should possess excellent time management skills.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to program, facilitate and be creative in motivating students toward individual success.
  • The incumbent must also conduct themself in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm’s reputation.
  • The Instructor must have experience speaking effectively to various small groups in a presenting/informative role.
  • Overtime may be required; flexibility in schedule, to include evening shifts and possible weekend hours as necessary.
  • Travel to attend meetings and required training may be required.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.
  • Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:
  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 – 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.

Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
