QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field from an accredited institution.

2. Appropriate education and licensure/certification as required by the Indiana Department of Education.

3. Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.

4. Strong understanding of Indiana State Standards and educational best practices.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.

7. Proficiency in using educational technology and software tools.

8. Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.


REPORTS TO: Principal / Assistant Principal


JOB GOAL: To foster a love of learning while leading students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains documentation of lesson plans that align with relevant curriculum standards.
  • Creates a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
  • Assesses and monitors student progress through various and frequent evaluation methods.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media; adapts teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicates effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student development.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
  • Supports school and district vision, mission, and goals through the exercise of professional responsibilities, including cooperating with other staff members in developing instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
  • Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
