Duffley Law is expanding into San Antonio, and we’re looking for an estate planning attorney to join us as the foundation of our new office. This is a unique opportunity for a driven attorney who wants the stability of firm-provided clients while also having room to grow into a leadership role as our San Antonio office scales.
About the Role
This is a 1099 contract position to start. You’ll be the primary attorney in our San Antonio satellite office, responsible for fulfilling estate planning matters for clients we provide. Our team will handle the marketing, consultations, and sales. Your focus will be on ensuring every client receives a high-quality, accurate estate plan.
The typical volume will be at least a few new plans each week, most of which will be trust-based estate plans, though you will also handle will-based plans.
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial attorney who is comfortable working independently, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow with us.
As Duffley Law’s presence in San Antonio expands, this role could evolve into a managerial or leadership position overseeing additional attorneys and staff.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents (trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, deeds, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in every plan delivered
- Communicate with clients as needed to complete their estate planning process and ensure alignment with client goals
- Coordinate and attend plan signing meetings with clients
- Handle planning intricacies with confidence and competence
- Maintain alignment with Duffley Law’s values and standards of excellence
Qualifications
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Experience with estate planning (particularly trust-based planning) required
- Familiarity with probate preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Comfortable working independently with growth opportunities ahead
- Strong commitment to accuracy and client service
- Familiarity with Lexis, Clio and other legal software tools.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Texas
- Based in the San Antonio area
Compensation
- 25% of revenue from completed estate planning matters
- Additional 25% of revenue from any cases you originate
