A User Product Manager (UPM) who will be the single point of contact for an in-house developed application serving our project estimates. This position will represent the sponsoring Estimating Function and user base.


Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide technical guidance to promote consistency across projects, customers, and business lines. You will provide detailed review and support to capital cost estimates, cash flow, working capital assessments, and to the preparation of estimate documentation. Your recommendations ensure accurate cost estimations and will be essential in driving project profitability and success.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the application meets business needs and aligns with strategic goals
  • Serves as the discipline representative to estimating automation
  • Acts as the voice of the user community, ensuring that application features and enhancements align with business requirements
  • Owns the Operating Plan for the application, including budget planning, goal setting, and scope definition for the development team
  • Coordinates the software product release schedule and ensures delivery aligns with the Configuration Management (CM) plan
  • Collaborates with other UPMs to manage integration requirements, which may involve interoperability standards and software development scope
  • Work closely with estimating functional manager, project controls and estimators to develop a road map for the future estimation system
  • Create user stories for developers to implement in the software
  • Work closely with the development managers and developers
  • Lead the User Acceptance testing and make sure product delivers based on given requirements
  • Define and prioritize the functionalities to be built in the product
  • Work very closely with estimators to understand the needs and requirements
  • Executing requests for implementation of project parameters within the estimate software
  • Prepare training packages and user guides on the estimate software


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Candidate must have at least 15-20 years of experience in EPC industry
  • Candidate must have 15 years of IT development of estimate software
  • Candidate must have 15 years in building estimates for an EPC project
  • Advance knowledge of how software engineering works and what it takes to develop and deploy a software solution
