The Opportunity:
We're seeking a Estimator to join our team and play a key role in our continued growth. In this high-impact position, you’ll be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing competitive estimates, and collaborating closely with operations, dispatch, and our valued customers. Annual salary: $100,000-$120,000.
The company pays for the entire Medical, Dental, and Vision premiums for employees and 80% of medical and 100% of Dental and vision for their dependents!

What You’ll Do:
- Analyze RFQs, specs, and site logistics to develop accurate, detailed cost estimates
- Collaborate with sales and project management teams to ensure alignment on scope and pricing
- Identify risks and provide innovative solutions for challenging hauls
- Build relationships with vendors and subcontractors to source reliable and cost-effective services
- Stay current with market rates, regulations, and best practices in the heavy haul industry
POSITION SUMMARY
The Estimator is responsible for researching, analyzing, developing, and preparing plans and bid quotes for oversized specialized heavy haul jobs, including quotes on bridge girders and bridge delivery. Oversees and coordinates various projects ensuring schedules and budgets are followed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Actively and routinely conducts research utilizing state plan centers and various other methods to identify potential future projects.
- Utilizes Google Earth, blueprints, specifications, and other related documents to develop the most efficient hauling techniques for the equipment required.
- Does on site route surveys and feasibility studies.
- Monitors and evaluates plans for future jobs in three to four state surrounding areas.
- Identifies labor, required equipment, delivery techniques and methods.
- Computes costs of labor, location, delivery equipment and time requirements.
- Proactively resolves discrepancies of information through regular communication with potential contractors.
- Maintains technical knowledge of heavy haul trucking industry. Order and obtain superload permits proactively to meet delivery schedules.
- Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budget the time necessary to meet each deadline.
- Establish good working relationships with other team members and customers.
- Foster positive communications and relationships with drivers, customers, and office personnel.
- Keep up to date on industry trends and developments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five years of heavy haul and specialized hauling experience
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of specific hauling equipment.
- Takes initiative in starting projects and identifying trends.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Organization: ability to plan ahead and adapt to change as necessary
- Strong internal and external customer focus
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills
- Strong attention to detail; highly developed analytical skills
- Proven track record working with Excel and Word; internet (Google Earth)
- Thorough understanding and application of Trucking laws (DOT); oversized regulations (rules, times of travel, routes); State regulations.
