Job Overview
The Restoration Project Manager Estimator is responsible for managing restoration projects from initial assessment through final completion, while accurately estimating the scope of work and costs associated with residential and commercial property damage caused by water, fire, mold, or other disasters. This role bridges the gap between field operations and client communications to ensure seamless execution, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Oversee day-to-day operations of restoration projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and materials.
- Conduct site inspections and damage assessments.
- Prepare detailed estimates using industry-standard software (e.g. Xactimate).
- Document scope of work, photos, and relevant site notes for insurance claims.
- Analyze costs, materials, and labor to generate accurate project bids.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters and clients on scope approvals
- Serve as primary point of contact for property owners and stakeholders.
- Provide timely updates on project progress and resolve issues proactively.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure projects meet safety regulations, company standards, and client expectations.
- Maintain compliance with insurance company requirements and local building codes.
- Conduct final walkthroughs and client sign-offs.
EXPERIENCE
- 3–5 years of experience in restoration project management or estimating (water/fire/mold preferred)
- Proficiency with estimating software (Xactimate, DASH, or similar)
- Strong understanding of residential/commercial construction practices
- Familiarity with insurance restoration processes and requirements
- Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
