THE ROLE
As an Event Coordinator at The Oncenter, you will provide professional client services support in the planning, organization, and management of events within the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Event Managers with on-site events.
- Handle event services in regard to electrical, IT, shipping & receiving, and utility needs for events.
- Ensure successful event coordination activities by monitoring events, maintaining close contact with clients and staff to ensure successful service levels are achieved.
- Meet with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events.
- Guide clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions and policies.
- Keep clients informed as to status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements and other relevant details.
- Prepare cost estimate and monitor final billing.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments.
- Maintain event related reports, information, and files.
- Attend appropriate planning, organization, and other event and facility meetings.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends & holidays.
- Serve as manager on duty as required.
- Perform related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree from a two or four-year college or university.
- One+ years of experience coordinating events in a multi-purpose facility which services conventions, exhibits, trade/consumer shows, athletic events, concerts, sales meetings, food & beverage functions, etc.
- Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services, and equipment for a similar facility.

- Strong mathematical skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to walk/stand/sit for long periods of time.
- You may be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function.
- Must have the physical ability to maneuver around facility(ies), at times, walking and/or standing up to 8-10 hours daily.
- This position may be exposed to adverse conditions such as loud noises, pyrotechnics, etc.
