Old Town Hot Springs has been a site for recreation and rejuvenation in this community for over 100 years because of the gift of the Heart Spring, the source of all the healing mineral water in our eight pools.
Job Summary:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and operations of all resort facilities. This includes ensuring that all buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team of maintenance staff. The Facilities Manager will report directly to the Facilities Director, who handles budget management and strategic planning. To ensure full coverage and consistent support across our operations, we have two Facilities Managers. This role will work in close partnership with our current Facilities Manager to coordinate responsibilities, align on priorities, and provide seamless facilities oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Plan, coordinate, and supervise all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring that all facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Team Management: Co-lead, train, and supervise a team of 12-13 maintenance staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Vendor Coordination: Oversee relationships with external contractors and vendors, ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
- Event Support: Coordinate facility setup and support for events and special functions hosted at the resort.
- Assist Facilities Director: Support the Facilities Director in developing and implementing emergency response plans, strategic maintenance planning, and other large-scale projects.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on maintenance activities, issues, and progress to the Facilities Director.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Work experience in lieu of degree will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a hospitality or resort environment.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of building systems and maintenance. Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain a strong, cooperative working relationship with the team.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) are a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in the use of maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
