Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of cable systems, ensuring high-quality service to our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of telecommunications systems and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic and copper cable systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Perform fiber splicing and ensure proper connections for optimal signal quality.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment for network installation tasks.
- Conduct field service visits to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to cable services.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Test and measure electrical signals using an ohmmeter and other diagnostic tools to ensure system integrity.
- Document installation processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- - Install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber in residential and commercial settings
- - Perform cable terminations, splicing, and testing fiber optics
- - Install and configure network equipment
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of cabling systems, including low voltage, Ethernet, telephone, and fiber splicing
- Experience with fiber splicing, electrical systems, and computer networking is preferred.
- Familiarity with Ethernet configurations and Cisco routers is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot telecommunication issues effectively.
- Proficient in using hand tools and equipment necessary for cable installation tasks.
- Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor settings, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel to job sites.
- Work in all types of weather unless stated otherwise
- Working in Residential Homes or Commercial Properties
- Work in attics and other limited-space areas.
- Climb ladders up to 28' with total load capacity of 300 pounds.
